Skin Surface Settings (DAZ 4.9 - Iray - GF2)
I was asked to share the skin surface settings in my recent images, so here goes:
- I cannot take credit for any of these, since I picked up all the suggestions over at DAZ Forums and some here on DeviantArt;
- These settings and adjustments are for texture sets originally designed for 3Delight. Texture sets designed for Iray are different, and I have not yet experimented with GF3 in DAZ Studio version 4.9;
- Maps are used only where noted (with masks for some surfaces);
- Everything is still a Work In Progress (Isn’t it always? )

The Making Of Alice - Cover PageHey there all,
As a result of my Tokyo Ghoul inspired Story - Alice Chapter 1- Page 6 to 10 being somewhat delayed, I decided to share a little on how I made the cover page. Perhaps useful to some, revealing to some and nothing new to others... I hope that it will still be interesting to the majority.
Ofcourse since my main subject, title, protagonist and narrator was none other than Alice... I wanted her in the cover page. Also, I wanted an aspect of her normal as well as Ghoulish look to be portrayed in this single Cover... and so I went around sketching different ideas...
Finally I decided that it would be best that I kept it as simple as possible and yet show the effect of her metomorphosizing into her darker aspect.
I made a render of Alice as she would have looked like as an Agent of CCG... her
Iray Render with/without Graphix Card n OpitXHi All,
I just managed to install CUDA for my iMac in order for the DAZ Studio beta 4.8 to recognise its presence when rendering in Iray.
All you have to do is to go to the Nvidia website for drivers and look to install CUDA. But do check if your card has this capability.
They have a list to look thru'.
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
OS X 10.9.5
After that I decided to test the speed. With or without the combo of CPU, Graphic Card and OptiX Prime Acceleration.
Image - Genesis Character of Sybill Delaqruze from Robot City with just sky dome infinite and no ground. Standard.
Image size - 512 by 1024 pixels
Render Quality 1.00
min Samples 5000
Instancing Optimisation - Memory
These are my findings:
This is just the CPU without Graphic Card and OPtiX - 2472 iterations 43min and 30sec
